I)Past perfect tense(पूर्ण भूतकाल)
इस काल के वाक्य के अंत में प्रायः चुका था ,चुकी थी ,चुके थे, लिया था, दिया था, गया था इत्यादि आता है|

नियम:

अरविंद खाना खा चुका था।

(B) Negative sentence(नकारात्मक वाक्य)
नियम:
Subject+had not+verb(3rd form)+object+complement
मैं स्टेशन पहुंच नही चुका था।
I had not reached the station.
गणेश घंटी नहीं बजा चुका था।
Ganesh had not rung the bell.

II)Past perfect continuous tense (पूर्ण-अपूर्ण भूतकाल)
इस काल मे समयावधि के साथ- साथ वाक्य के अंत में रहा था, रही थी ,रहे थे ,रही थी इत्यादि आता है।
अनुवाद के नियम:
A) Affirmative sentence(सरल वाक्य)
नियम:
Subject+had been+verb मे ing+for/since+object+complement
एक ऐसा समय जो निश्चित भाव प्रकट करे उसके लिए Since तथा अनिश्चित समय का भाव प्रकट करने के लिए For का प्रयोग करते हैं।
निश्चित समय के अंतर्गत(point of time):
Since April,since 1990,since yesterday, since monday,Since evening or morning
अनिश्चित समय के अंतर्गत(Period of time):
For eight hours,for three months,for five days,for two weeks,for a long time
तुम प्रातः काल से पुस्तक पढ़ रहे थे|
You had been reading the book since morning.
पुलिस चोरों को 5 दिन से खोज रही थी।
The police had been searching the thieves for five days.
वह 1 महीने से कठिन परिश्रम कर रहा था।
He had been working hard for one month.
यह किसान पिछले सोमवार से अपना खेत जोत रहा था।
This farmer had been ploughing his field since last Monday.
वे 4:00 बजे से गाना गा रहे थे।
They had been singing a song since 4 o’clock.
B) Negative sentence(नकारात्मक वाक्य)
नियम:
Subject+had not been+verb मे ing+for/since+object+complement
वह सुबह से नहीं सो रहा था।
He had not been sleeping since morning.
राहुल 2 घंटे से रेडियो नहीं सुन रहा था।
Rahul had not been listening to the radio for two hours.
किरण 3:00 बजे से अपना काम नहीं कर रही थी।
Kiran had not been doing her work since 3 o’clock.
हम मैदान में 2 घंटे से नहीं दौड़ रहे थे।
We had not been running in the field for two hours.
तुम प्रातः काल से खाना नहीं बना रहे थे।

नियम:
1)had+subject+ been+verb मे ing+for/since+object+complement?

प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य में नकारात्मक भाव आने पर had और been के बीच not लगाते है।
